The Environment
Our aim, as a family run nursing home, is to give a high standard of nursing and personal care in a very traditional, homely and friendly environment. Delaheys is a home of great character and charm; one visit will certainly convey that feeling. As you enter the spacious reception area, featuring a sweeping central staircase, this gives way to a luxurious drawing room and the adjacent dining room. A spacious and airy sun lounge is accessed through the dining room. The interior architecture, with its original feature fireplaces and period mouldings, gives a perfect setting for the home comforts we aim to provide.
This detached property, with landscaped gardens to front and rear, was originally a gentleman’s residence in 1912 and retains much of its original character despite the two major developments undertaken to convert its use to a 28-bed nursing home. So if you personally, or a loved one, have the need of professional care in a homely atmosphere, please arrange to pay us a visit. We seldom have rooms vacant for very long but we are pleased to see visitors with a view to satisfying their requirements when a suitable room becomes available. A word from Matron – “Delaheys was my family’s home for many years and I want to extend the lovely character of this house to people who come to live here; it will be their home too. Our own family home adjoins the nursing home, so we are never far away”. The Home has a NO SMOKING policy for residents, staff and visitors in the interests of health and safety for all. |
